On your arrival in Ahmedabad, India you will be received by our representative who will assist you to your hotel and will also brief you about your tour. After handing over all the relevant documents and details of your tour, our assistant will leave you for a comfortable overnight stay at hotel.
Start you tour by visiting Calico Museum of Textiles. Known to be India’s leading specialized museums, the museum is said to have a comprehensive and distinguished collection of artefacts and textiles. After a brief visit there, explore the Shreyas Museum of folk art collections. Later in the evening enjoy traditional Guajarati dinner with entertainment show at Vishala Village Restaurant. Overnight stay at the hotel.
After taking breakfast in Ahmedabad proceed to Gondal, a princely town of considerable importance and affluence. On arrival, check into the hotel and after taking some rest; visit the Navlakha Palace which houses the erstwhile ruling family’s private collection of bead work, textiles, brassware, hand-painted toys and silver crafts. Other places of tourist attraction comprises of the centre that promotes weaving at Gondal, and the historic buildings of Gondal. Overnight stay will remain scheduled at the Gondal palace.
Post breakfast drive to Jetpur which is famous for its screen and block printing workshops, and a yam-dyeing centre. After taking a brief visit here, continue your drive to Junagadh, a historic city has 3rd century BC Buddhist relics, medieval fort, mausoleum complexes, palaces, etc to explore. On arrival, explore the beauty of gem-encrusted carpets, wardrobes and tapestry of the Nawab at the museums. Later in the evening return to Gondal. Stay overnight at Gondal palace.
Start the day with a delicious breakfast and pack your bags for the next destination, Jamnagar. En-route visit Rajkot, the city is known for its Watson Museum which has good examples of Gujarat’s craftsmanship skills, and Rashtriya Shala which works to revive hand-weaving. After taking a brief visit to Rajkot, continue your drive to Jamnagar. On arrival, check into the hotel and spend some leisure time. In evening, visit Vanzas who are known for their Bandhani (tie-and-dye) sarees. Overnight stay will remain scheduled in the hotel.
After breakfast in your hotel, continue the journey towards the next destination i.e. Bhuj. On arrival, check in to the hotel and some leisure hours there. In the evening take a walk to explore the beauty the beauty of the local Textiles Market. Take an overnight stay at the hotel.
After taking breakfast in the hotel, visit the Aina Mahal Museum & Pragmahal Museum. In the afternoon, visit A.A. Wazir’s (National Award Winner Artiest) Textiles Museum Shop. Rest of the day is kept free for leisure and shopping. Overnight stay will remain scheduled at the hotel.
Post breakfast; get ready for excursion of villages around Bhuj. Known for their distinctive styles of Embroidery, Tie and Dye Effects and other handiwork like Weaving, Block-Printing, Rogan-painting, etc. these villages give you a true glimpse artistic India. Return back to Bhuj for an overnight stay at the hotel.
On this day of the exotic Gujarat Textile tour, post breakfast get ready to drive for Bhujodi Village. On arrival, meet the National award winner artist to see how they do traditional weaving and visit Shurjan Store for shopping. Thereafter, drive to Ashapura Crafts Park where the artesian display their skills and sell their product, later in the evening return to the Bhuj for your overnight stay in hotel.
After taking breakfast in Bhuj, proceed to little Rann of Kutch. On arrival check in to the eco-resort that is designed using local materials and handicrafts to resemble a village. At Resort, witness the Rabari women at work on their distinct embroideries. Overnight stay will remained scheduled in the resort.
On this last day of the tour, after taking breakfast in the resort, proceed to Patan, an ancient fortified colony which is now known for exquisite double ikkat silk fabrics and Patola silk textiles. Both fabrics are of considerable commercial importance for textile studies. Patola is the one of the richest silk textiles in the world, woven using the rare double-ikkat technique.
On arrival, check into the hotel and after taking a brief break visit some Patola Silk Weavers to witness some handful experience of their weaving techniques. After taking a brief tour here, proceed to Ahmedabad, on your arrival check in to the hotel and stay overnight in Ahmedabad.
